As we prep for our Ayurveda session, please share with your fellow learners the following:
    1) Your Dosha (see link I sent previously to do quiz)
    2) Whether or not your yogic constitution – your given Dosha – resonates with you.
    3) What you hope to learn in our session about Ayurveda

    1) Dominantly Pitta with Vata increasing as I get older.
    2) I am definitely Pitta; strong digestion, sensitive skin, very focused, workaholic tendencies, and “all-knowing.” The many Pitta descriptions that I’ve read over time describe me pretty well. My Vata traits, that are slowly increasing, are related to dry skin and hair, sensitivity to cold temperatures, and a dislike of the wind, even a gentle breeze.
    3) I’ve incorporated several Ayurvedic practices into my daily routine and I’d like to learn more ways to integrate this information into the classes I teach. This would help my students to bring Yoga and Ayurveda more fully into their lives – perhaps to make it their lifestyle, or at least a larger part of their day to day living.

    1) Pitta with a little Vata, yep couldn’t agree more!

2)Pitta ya, always hungry, I get grumpy if I don’t eat every couple hours. I like to have fun but when it’s time to get a job done I take charge. I don’t sit still long or at all. I even ha e a standing desk at work because I hate to sit. Vatta- I’m very cold sensitive.

3). I hoping this will help me feel better as a person, my Dr. just told me to go on an anti inflammatory diet which lines up with pitta. I also hope I can incorporate it into my yogi lifestyle to help me grow as a teacher.

    1. I am Vata and Pitta! My numbers were very close with Vata in the lead
    2. I definitely vata when it comes to the mind. I struggle with decision making and always rethinking the decisions I do make and this is definitely Vata. I am also always cold, which is a Vata trait. I do see Pita in my eating habit because I love salads and I do like to eat more than three meals a day.
    3. I am hoping to learn more about how to balance out the different Doshas. I have been working on this and have made some progress, but would love to learn more. Since my numbers were very close with the Vata and Pita, I would like to learn more about what that means. I want to be have a better understanding of Ayuerveda, so I can incorporate this into my personal yoga practice and lifestyle, as well as my teaching to help my students.

My dosha quiz revealed I was Kappha/Pitta. At first, I was surprised by the pitta analysis. My intial understanding of pitta was that it was hard driven, run a million marathons, high intensity work out kind of crowd. Which, I am absolutely none of that! But, as I educated myself more, I could see a lot of pitta qualities in me. Some of which are, my clock and how we need the winding down time late afternoon, early evening with family love, hobbies…but if we get past that early wind down our second wind kicks in and we find ourselves doing deep cleaning around the house at 8:30 at night! Another pitta quality for me in non attachement. I hate clutter. It makes me feel so out of sorts and not balanced. I’m very organized. I have sensitive skin and high blood pressure, also pitta qualities. My kappha qualities ring true in easy weight gain, emotional , cry easily, take long time making decisions. I weigh all aspects of solution out. I LOVE ROUTINE!! I love to keep peace and bring comfort to my loved ones and friends.
It was fun and eye opening to read about doshas. Hard not to stop and think, “Oh yea, this is so and so, for sure!” LOL
During our Ayurveda session, I hope to just have discussion of the book we studied, to see if in doing so, something will pop up as and “aha” moment I may have missed in my reading. Also, maybe learn some ways to stay true to dosha when life gets in the way and not get crazy over it. And how to eat better according to my dosha.

    1) My Dosha – depnds on the test. Definitely Kapha. Some tests say Kapha-Pitta (Kapha body, Pitta mind)
    2) It does. I keep reading and thinking, “Hey, that’s me!” I don’t have much Vata, so when Vata is high, I rellay feel it.
    3) First, I really want to learn how to eat for my Dosha. When there are two doshas, how do you do it? I don’t know why the terminology for pacifying is confusing to me, but it’s not sinking in. And does the season affect food choices because it’s the season, or because the season can put your doshas out of your typical balance. Second, if you only pick a few of the things suggested (like tongue scraping or sleep/wake times), which are the most important or impactful.

    1) Dosha: Pitta – with low, but equally balanced Kapha/Vata
    2) This dosha absolutely resonates with me. I tend to be fast paced and often feel “fiery.” Putting into practice the elements that aid in “calming my fire” have made me feel so much better.
    3) I hope to understand how to recognize when my dosha is unbalanced. And how to create a plan to bring it back into equilibrium.

    1) My scores were 58 Pitta, 47 Vata and 43 Kapha. I understand this to mean that I am a Pitta but I have a strong balance of the other two doshas as well.

    2) I do feel that Pitta characteristics both in personality and in my body resonate, but I also feel drawn to the descriptions mentally and physically of Vata. I am starting to realize that when I’m taking care of myself or rather, my life is more balanced, I express more Vata but Pitta is my fall-back and default operating system. It has also been my survival mode, I can rely on my Pitta attributes when times are tough.

    3) I am learning a lot about balance and removing certain things from my life. I am able to add to my life, but I have struggled to let go of people, and patterns of thinking. The life I want for myself requires me to be able to change both. I am hoping to learn more about how Ayurveda can put language to what I’m already starting to learn about myself and how I can use this to better understand how to live the life I want.

    1. Tri-doshic
    2. I am definitely tri-doshic, but I’m not gonna to lie, it does get confusing. I want to be just one so I can focus on it, but instead I need to focus on keeping all three in balance. This does definitely explain how My mood or actions can change with the wind. I’m usually an upbeat person but as my mom used to tell me, it’s hard when you get down because you really get down. I can typically juggle multiple things and keep my cool but sometimes I lose it! I can be the slow moving, chill person until the fire in me says let’s go and I GO! I believe the Pita in me developed strongest in my teen years, always competing in some type of challenge but the Kapha causes me to procrastinate in preparation. I did a lot of public speaking and never was nervous during but my Vata side made me nervous after when I would get in my head about how I did. Tri-doshic!
    3. I’m looking forward to learning more about Balancing all three, what causes me to go off balance and how to work through it.

I’m a Kapha and have been trying to live an Ayurveda Lifestyle ever since I attended Kimberly’s DOSHA workshop on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017. I learned so much for the homework and the workshop. I started the process quickly. I started to change my diet, habits and my sleep patterns to see what would happen. I always knew that my body processed red meat slowly and I felt so sluggish after eating certain foods. I felt the best when eating rabbit food, eating fresh produce and salads. Eating frequently and eating light and now it made all sense. I should have been avoiding heavy foods. I should have been listening to my body all along. It helped me learn how to change my habits and try new things that fit my dosha. I love to stay up late, but I started to try and get to bed before 9pm and wake up by 5am. I was very skeptical on how I would feel but I got into a habit and I realized that my clock is different than others. I need sleep but maybe at different times than other people. I realize that I was in love with Pilates as my dosha really needs it. Learning about my dosha makes me so much more aware of how I’m feeling and what I need to stay in alignment with balancing my Dosha. Also, wintertime is harder for me, so I started to swim and sit in a hot tub. I started doing activities to keep myself more in balance. Overall, it started to change my perspective, build self-awareness and understand more about my mind, body and spirit. I’m so grateful I took that class when I did because it’s really helped me deal with life in 2018 especially. I really enjoy the emails that I get from “DoshaDiva: Lisa Coffey” and I learn something new every week. It’s so fun to learn things to help myself since I’m definitely a Kapha!! I can’t wait to learn more in our training session!

I have been more vata in my earlier life (I have taken the quizzes earlier in mu life), but now most quizzes deem me to be a mix of vata and pitta with vata being the more dominant one still. I total agree with this because my mind is always many yards ahead of my body. I am quick in walking, making decisions, always on the go, have a poor appetite, a thin frame, cold hands and feet (although this is changing now), flexible but week joints, quick to learn but quick to forget, I like warm foods (cold foods and salads do not agree with me) etc.

Unfortunately, I am missing this session. I am incorporated Ayurveda in my lifestyle to some extent, and I will rely upon different readings to continue to learn how to balance my prakruti further.

    My dosha is kapha-vata.

Yes, this does resonate with me. The shorty in the family, everyone two- three inches taller than me.
Resist the cold as much as possible, and love the hot tub. My moods easily switch, and always been a good sleeper.
I catch on quickly, and move on, have to take time to lock in learning.
Folks always comment on my thick hair.
    This dosha fits me overall.

I hope to gain a better direction in self care, an armor against disease.
Overall feeling my best, and making it easier on all my systems.

My Dosha (kapha pitta) resonates with me somewhat. I have taken several of the quizzes and am constantly surprised that there isn’t more Vata. Especially as a kid I was called air headed by my family quite a bit. I’ve alwsy been a creative/artsy person and have literally tortured my very routine oriented husband by never being able to make the same dinner twice. I’m not someone for whom routines are natural. Alas! Maybe phase of life influences these things. I really identify with kapha in balance but only a little bit out of balance and I identify with pitta only a little bit in balance and more out of balance – I’m more likely to get irritable than sad or anxious when under stress.

As I’m writing this after our Ayurveda day I can say I was pretty jazzed by this as I was beginning to read about it. It slides beautifully into the work I’m trying to do with clients but also with myself. I left that session feeling like I need to go further with this stuff. And as I’ve seen clients this week I’ve noticed things in Ayurvedic terms. It’s been really interesting and exciting.
